Meet the                                                Team 

Carlie McPhee is a specialized sexual health educator with over a decade of experience across western Canada. They have worked across multiple public health sectors and alongside leading sexual health researchers, and spent countless hours teaching sexual health from kindergarten through grade 12. This rare combination of classroom expertise and research experience has made Carlie a recognized authority in sex education.

When not teaching, Carlie contributes to sexual health research at the University of British Columbia, continuing to advance the field with a focus on inclusive, evidence-based education and youth-oriented advocacy work.

Sarah has worked extensively in sexual health education, promotion, and research. She is a certified Sexual Health Educator specializing in elementary-aged sexual health education. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Simon Fraser University. Sarah currently works in health research with the REAFFIRM Collaborative at SFU, an interdisciplinary research team committed to 2S/LGBTQIA+ equity through research.

Educator | Facilitator | Health Promotion Specialist 

Julie has been working in the field of health, wellbeing, and education in Vancouver for over 15 years - working with populations ranging from preschoolers to adults. She is currently a Health Promotion Specialist with the Health Equity, Promotion, and Education team at the University of British Columbia where she specializes in Sexual Health and Substance Use Health from a harm reduction approach. Julie has consulted for various Public Health and Educational institutions and is a talented facilitator with a knack for knowledge translation and meaningful connection. She is passionate about knowledge mobilization, exchange, and dissemination that is rooted in community care and social justice

Sam is creative freelancer with over 13 years of experience working with non-profits, small businesses and educational institutions. She is an illustrator, animator, instructor and graphic designer and has worked on a huge variety of projects from award winning short films to billboards to children's books. She is especially interested in working on social justice campaigns and projects that promote diversity, equity and inclusion. She is currently the Vice-President of the Quickdraw Animation Society Board of Directors and is a sessional instructor at the Alberta University of the Arts. Find Sam at samhaslam.com

Alysha is a Queer Sexual Health Educator based in Vancouver BC. She is on a mission to make Sex Ed more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. Alysha teaches all things related to sexual health and intimacy in a way that is comprehensive, pleasure-based an free of shame. With a background in youth care work, Alysha has spent years supporting youth in shelters, schools and community organizations. On top of that she provides in-depth training for service providers like teachers and front line workers.  Alysha is also the Queer and Trans Programming Coordinator at Family Services of Greater Vancouver.
